Singing crocodiles, bathers, caviar, and melodious music—follow the names of the reptiles that live in a house on East 88th Street in New York City. Lyle enjoys helping the Primms with their daily chores and playing with the neighborhood kids. But a neighbor insists that Lyle is in the zoo. Mr. Grumps and his cat, Loretta, don’t like crocodiles, and Lyle tries to prove he’s not as bad as others initially thought.
